Capnella imbricata (Kenya Tree Coral)
Tree-like soft coral with a thick central stalk and branching lobes covered in small brownish polyps. Colors range from grey and beige to yellow or greenish tones.
Range: Widespread Indo-Pacific, from East Africa to the western Pacific. Habitat: Reef slopes and rubble zones in shallow to moderate depths with good water movement. Biology: Zooxanthellate and filter-feeding; propagates easily by dropping branch tips that quickly reattach.
Aquarium notes: Hardy and fast-growing. Tolerates moderate to strong flow and a range of lighting. Fragments readily and establishes quickly, making it ideal for beginners and intermediate aquarists.
